The team at Britannia Preservation are committed to their policy on sustainability and the environment. For example, we use digital technologies in preference to printing hard copies of paperwork, we have an active recycling policy and we have reduced the amount of waste that we generate.
We avoid using preservative chemicals and provide environmentally friendly solutions for remedial works. We bulk buy materials to reduce packaging and the impact of transportation on the environment and we tend to select those suppliers who have adopted sustainable and environmentally aware practices. Finally, we always advise our clients in ways that they can promote sustainability, by improving insulation and through good design to avoid unnecessary works in the future.
In addition, our co-director, Les Sellers, is a Chartered Environmentalist. Chartered Environmentalists are not drawn from any single profession. Instead, they work across various industries, government, education and the public sector. Common to them all is the commitment to environmental best practice, a high degree of expertise in their field and a pledge to meet the following sustainability aims:
• Act in accordance with the best principles for the mitigation of environmental harm and the enhancement of environmental quality;
• Strive to ensure that the uses of natural resources are fair and sustainable taking account of the needs of a diverse society;
• Use skill and experience to serve the needs of the environment and society;
• Serve as an example to others for responsible environmental behaviour;
• Not engage in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation or discrimination;
• Commit to maintaining personal professional competence and strive to maintain the integrity and competence of their profession.
